Based on the following links from Trimble company, we can say that

Files *.t* are raw data, i.e., contain the original data as received from satellites without any processing. The file *.t00 is a file comes from a trimble receiver that measures only GPS satellites, while the files *.t01 and *.t02 come from a trimble receiver that measures GNSS, i.e. GPS+other navigation systems like GLONASS for example
The .dat file is a version of all original *.t* files, which is created by the receiver or data control to be send to the computer. This file is, usually, an ASCII format, i.e., you can open it by notepad and read its contents.
However, a user should NOT try to edit or change any of these data files! Again, these files contain the original raw satellite measurements, and any change will cause wrong processing and of course wrong results
